Activities
The National Commitee on Transport Engineering (NCTE) usually meets twice a year. Much of the work of the committee is undertaken by the committee members in between formal committee meetings.
Activities of the NCTE include:
- preparing discussion, position and policy papers on current issues in transport;
- holding national conferences and symposia;
- conducting studies of national issues and preparing papers for publication on these issues; and
- establishing and maintaining liaison with other appropriate national and international bodies, such as the Chartered Institute of Transport in Australia, the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Australian Institute for Traffic Planning and Management. The NCTE is also the formal Australian member of the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies.
