Finish what you started: Chartered application transition options
The ability to complete the submission requirements using eChartered is now closed.
What are my options now?
If you made your final submission on eChartered by the required cut-off date, please now wait for your assessment results. You will be advised of one of 3 options:
- You can proceed to Professional Interview. Please access eChartered to complete the PI request task.
Please pay particular attention to the comments received from the Assessors. For some, you may need to provide further work examples and understanding of particular competencies at your Interview in lieu of a resubmission.
Your Interview may take up to 8 weeks to be scheduled & held.
- You may be offered an amended pathway on Chartered 2017+ to provide the final resubmission and for organisation of your Professional Interview. An Engineers Australia representative will contact you directly to provide instruction if this option has been offered to you by our Assessors.
- Where a high number of eChartered Competency Claims have been assessed as Not Yet Competent, you will be advised to switch to Chartered 2017+. You will need to complete the Self Assessment & Industry Review in full and provide your evidence in line with the new requirements. Please ensure you have read the Evidence guidelines. You can use eChartered work marked as Competent within your Chartered 2017+ application and the Evidence page details how this is to be done. You will need to download your eChartered Individual Participant Progress Report (IPPR) from the Reports tab within eChartered. It is recommended that you download this report as soon as practical.
You need to switch to Chartered 2017+. You will need to complete the Self Assessment & Industry Review in full and provide your evidence in line with the new requirements. Please ensure you have read the Evidence guidelines (link to Evidence page). You can use any eChartered work marked as Competent within your Chartered 2017+ application and the Evidence page details how this is to be done.
If you were enrolled on eChartered prior to the introduction of Chartered 2017+, once you enroll on the Standard Member Pathway, you will pay a discounted enrolment fee of $1100 inc GST. The usual fee is $1760 inc GST. This discount is currently in place until the end of September 2018. Please note that there is no fee to engage with the Self Assessment & Industry Review and payment is only required at Enrolment.
A refund of eChartered fees paid will not be made unless you have evidence that the payment made to EA for both your discounted Chartered 2017+ enrolment and eChartered fees is more than the usual fee for the Standard Member Pathway.
A refund of eChartered fees paid will not be made if you are eligible to apply, but have decided not to continue with a Chartered application of any sort.
Upon application, a refund of the eChartered enrolment fee will be made to the payee (which in some cases, may be your employer), if you have less than 3 years of Engineering Experience and are not eligible to apply under Chartered 2017+.
If you are eligible and have transferred to the Chartered via Interview pathway (link to pathway details), you are not entitled to the eChartered transition fee of $1100 inc GST. Instead, you will pay the usual fee of $1760 inc GST. Upon proof of enrolment, a refund of all eChartered fees paid to date will be made.
