Cyber Engineering

A Community of Practice dedicated to sharing experience and knowledge of Cyber Engineering.

Cyber Engineering Community of Practice

Cyber engineering involves the design, implementation, maintenance and improvement of measures used to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and information.

Cyber engineering includes the understanding of a broad spectrum of security risks and threats that need to be eliminated or mitigated, when creating, designing, evaluating and using all types of digital technologies, consisting of hardware, firmware and software components or applications in systems.

The Engineers Australia Cyber Engineering Community of Practice (CoP) serves as both a strategic and functional vehicle.  Engagement by the CoP will focus on trends, risks, threats, impacts, controls and good practices associated with all aspects of cyber risks related to people, process and technologies.  The scope of activities will include Cyber Security and the threats or risks to the Computer and Telecom infrastructure and services. Threats or risks to infrastructure and services used by end-users and their social interactions will also be included.

Special Cyber Community member benefit: Non EA members will have access to selected webinars at the same rate EA members during 2020/21

Cyber Engineering is a fast-changing field of engineering practice that requires regular knowledge update to respond the rapid pace of technological change, the application of technology to automate, control and interconnect systems and to an ever-changing cyber threat environment. Enhanced professional development is necessary and engineering review policies must be flexible and easy to modify to respond to new developments.

The group operates as a collaborative work unit and seeks to provide a forum to formally and informally share experiences, knowledge and skills amongst members, and to capture opportunities and make recommendations on good practice and improvements through this process.

You don't need to be a member of Engineers Australia (EA) to join the Cyber Engineering Community of Practice, anyone with an interest is welcome to join.

Members of Cyber Engineering CoP will have access to content such as webinars, case studies, practice notes, articles and forums.  You will also be able to network with likeminded professionals who are knowledgeable and have experience in Cyber Engineering and related information.  You will find all this information on the Cyber Community platform HERE.

  • Non EA members will have access to selected webinars at the same rate EA members for 2020/21.

We invite you to help drive the success of this community by way of free membership, participation, and providing content to build the body of knowledge for this community.   Joining is easy, just click on the link in the 'Become a Member' section.
