When material is removed from underground through mining, the overlying terrain can begin to sink, which is called mine subsidence. The extent of mine subsidence depends on a range of factors. MSTS aims to promote and support the technical discussion at all levels of the building, construction, mining and other industries effected by mine subsistence.
Topics covered include:
- Managing subsidence impacts on surface infrastructure and natural features
- Current research and development, including recent case studies
- Mine Subsidence mitigation and remedial measures
- Multi-Seam mining subsidence
