Mine Subsidence Technology Society

For engineers working in mining and related industries.

When material is removed from underground through mining, the overlying terrain can begin to sink, which is called mine subsidence. The extent of mine subsidence depends on a range of factors. MSTS aims to promote and support the technical discussion at all levels of the building, construction, mining and other industries effected by mine subsistence.

Topics covered include:

  • Managing subsidence impacts on surface infrastructure and natural features
  • Current research and development, including recent case studies
  • Mine Subsidence mitigation and remedial measures
  • Multi-Seam mining subsidence
