Amendment 4 AS/NZS 1170.2 - design internal pressures and windborne debris

Amendment 4 to AS/NZS 1170.2 was issued this year. It aims to clarify the requirements for selecting design internal pressures. This presentation focuses on internal pressures and the critical role they play in ensuring the safety of the whole building. The likelihood of wind-borne debris is an important consideration in selecting internal pressures, and the seminar examines the debris loads presented in the standard, and progress towards establishing an industry test standard for debris.

About the speaker:

Geoff Boughton is a member of the Standards Committee that maintains AS/NZS 1170.2. He has investigated wind damage to buildings in all wind regions in Australia and will present a practical and design focused seminar on the recent changes to one of the most controversial areas of the design loads standard.
