AITPM, in conjunction with Transport Australia Society (TAS) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) are pleased to host this years’ regional event in Geelong. Join us for a light lunch and a technical discussion that will explore the transport challenges facing Geelong both now and into the future. The event will include a mix of presenters from the City of Greater Geelong, Transport for Victoria and Regional Roads Victoria, covering topics that impact on growth, movement and place and planning for the region and its transport network.

Speakers include:

Jarrod Malone, Coordinator – Transport Engineering Services, City of Greater Geelong / Nat Anson, Project Manager – Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas, City of Greater Geelong
Delivering integrated transport for Geelong’s clever and creative future.
Greater Geelong is led by a community vision that will transform the city into a ‘clever and creative’ city-region by 2047 with measures of success including 50% of all journeys to work made by public and active transport.

The Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas project – a new growth area equivalent to the population of Ballarat – seeks to deliver an integrated transport network that will achieve the community’s vision.

Bus network planning in a regional Australian City
Adam and Phoebe will present on recent work undertaken by Transport for Victoria as part of the Revitalising Central Geelong strategy. The work will focus on how bus network planning and how this is able to strike a balance between movement and place, as well as achieving the aim of Council’s 50% active and public transport mode share target.
