An Engineers Australia accreditation panel will visit Charles Darwin University (CDU) between 8 and 10 May for the five-yearly General Review of CDU engineering courses.
Feedback from local engineers, employers and graduates is critical for successful accreditation of CDU courses. An informal meeting with the panel has therefore been scheduled by CDU for Monday the 8 May. Food and drink will be provided.
The following courses are up for reaccreditation by Engineers Australia:
- Bachelor of Engineering Science (3 year) – Engineering Technologist level
- Bachelor of Engineering Honours (4 year) – Professional Engineer level
- Master of Engineering (2 year) – Professional Engineer level
A particular focus for this visit will be the Chemical Engineering program as this program may be able to transition from provisional to full accreditation. The visiting accreditation panel will also include representatives from ICHemE, as CDU also applied for accreditation of the Chemical Engineering program under this international accreditation system.
Past accreditation visits received overwhelming support from local industry and government, resulting in successful accreditation bids.
Why should I attend?
CDU is the largest provider of Engineering graduates in the Northern Territory. Engineers Australia accreditation is vital for current students and graduates, and the industry and the government sectors that employ them.
