Glen Sharkowicz
Director Commercial Marketing – South Asia Pacific
ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants

Glen Sharkowicz has developed an in depth expertise in gas engines, and a variety of industry sectors during his more than 20-year career.

Glen joined the marketing team from his previous assignment as Lubricants Technical Support and In Service Oil Analysis Laboratory Manager.  He has also performed as Product Technical Advisor, serving as the interface between products research, marketing, sales and operations.  In this role he was responsible for the development and ongoing support for a portfolio that included natural gas engines and turbine oil lubricants.

In Glen’s current capacity, he is the manager of Commercial Lubricants Marketing in South Asia Pacific and is currently based in Singapore.  Glen comes to Australia exclusively for the Engineers Australia seminars.

Robert Siegrest
Segment Manager - Electric Power Investor/Gas Power Solutions | Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA)

Robert Siegrist works for Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA) as Segment Manager – Electric Power Investor/Gas Power Solutions. Rob started his career with Caterpillar in 1976 as an engine sales management trainee and has worked with the Cat family for over 40 years. Rob is highly regarded for his knowledge of diesel and gas engines. He has a skills set in power generation that is well reputed in the mining, commercial and oil & gas industries.

He has a wealth of experience in Engineering, Project Management and Sales at an international level. Rob has worked in Switzerland, the Middle East and across Australia.

Rob started with Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA) in 1994 at its inception over 25 years ago, and has worked as the Segment Manager for Electric Power and Oil & Gas for nearly fifteen years. EPSA is the exclusive national engine dealer for Caterpillar in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.


David Stevenson
Rotating Equipment Engineer - Spring Gully | Origin Energy - Integrated Gas 

David Stevenson works for Origin Energy as a Rotating Equipment Engineer for the Spring Gully Asset Group in Origin’s Integrated Gas business which produces gas for the Queensland domestic gas and International LNG markets. David has over 25 years of experience with gas engines of both automotive and industrial designs. He has over 30 years of spark ignition engine experience since starting his career as a mechanic through to Rotating Equipment Engineer, Team Lead and Reliability Managerial roles at Origin.

David has a wealth of knowledge gained through performing engine maintenance and overhauls, delivering technical training, development and optimisation of maintenance strategies, failure analysis and RCA, providing operational support and Australian Standard compliance support for industrial gas engines. David is a member of the AS/NZS 5263 Gas appliances Part 1.11 Small Gas Engines working group.

Origin’s Integrated Gas business unit operates over 200 industrial gas engines ranging in size from 60kW to 2600kW in a variety of configurations and services.



Greg Williams
Director Engineering & Asset Management | Yarra Trams

Greg Williams is an asset management professional with 30 years experience in the care of physical assets.  He has worked in a variety of senior and general management positions with the Navy, Tenix, Transfield Services, Silcar, AGL, Alinta, Jemena, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Powercor. His career has included roles in systems engineering, project management, logistics support, quality management, maintenance and risk consulting.  Greg has a track record of achievement in leadership of asset management functions, enterprise and operational risk, regulatory compliance, business continuity and crisis and emergency policy.

Throughout Greg’s career he has remained keenly interested in maintenance and process safety practices.  He has delivered workshops and technical papers on risk, maintenance, life cycle costing, asset management and asset information management for a variety of clients and international conferences. He has developed and delivered graduate level courses on maintenance engineering and logical fault diagnosis at RMIT, and continues to contribute thought leadership in these areas.
