Part 1: ‘Fair Go – Exploring Employment Contracts’

Legal expert, Lou Stojanovski will explain what to look for in an employment contract. He’ll explore variances between what may be included in contracts and discuss contract and Award compatibility. He’ll answer questions around what should be included in a contract, what shouldn’t be included and clarify issues such as ‘non-compete clause.’

Lou commenced his legal career in 1995 and is now an industry recognised specialist in Construction, Mining and Infrastructure Infrastructure Law. He holds a Bachelor of Construction Management  (Building) and  has previously worked as a projects officer in a large building company. Lou’s background allows him to quickly  understand the needs of clients involved in projects and offer sound and effective legal advice. Lou’s experience includes advising on venture structuring, partnership  agreements, construction  agreements, engineering procurement and construction agreements, mining infrastructure and equipment supply agreements, asset sale, mergers and acquisitions.

Part 2 of this series Contractor Employment - Emerging trends in Engineering Employment will be held Tuesday 18 September when Mitchell Cook (Senior Recruitment Consultant, GWG) will delve into the world of Contractor Employment.

Contractor Employment is prevalent these days, but would you consider it? Mitchell will explain what types of roles in the industry are being offered as contractor positions & further discuss associated issues such as how banks recognise contractor employment. He’ll also advise on the role of employment agencies can play in the process and & what they can divulge when seeking candidates.
