The recent events involving flammable building cladding at London’s Grenfell Tower and at Lacrosse building in Melbourne’s Docklands highlight issues with the use of potentially flammable cladding materials and non-conforming building materials.
The potential for similar disasters in the Gold Coast and Brisbane requires that suppliers, designers, specifiers and builders must be alert to the problems that could arise from the use of such materials.
Engineers Australia’s Gold Coast Regional Group has been proactive in obtaining two speakers to provide expert commentary on these matters.
This will be a quality presentation not only to Engineers but also to Architects, Building Certifiers, materials suppliers, builders, Government approval officers, building owners and the general public.
