As part of the “week” that surrounds International Women’s Day, we’re hosting a breakfast to celebrate!
We will be joined by leading women in transport:
Nicole Lockwood - Taskforce Chair, Westport
Nicole has been on the Board of Infrastructure Australia since 2010, is a member of the Expert Panel leading Inquiry into National Freight and Supply Chain Priorities and is the Chair of the Westport Taskforce. Nicole holds a number of other Chair and board roles focused on infrastructure, urban development and digital enablement.
Previously she was a Director at KPMG leading the government team in Management Consulting. She resided in the Pilbara for seven years until 2012 holding numerous governance roles including Shire President at the Shire of Roebourne. Nicole is a lawyer having worked in private and public practice.
Jamie Mullins - Rail Planning Manager, Public Transport Authority - METRONET
Heather McPherson - Principal Professional - Rail, GHD
Heather has spent the last 10 years working on major rail projects in the UK. Heather spent 5 years working on the £14.8bn Crossrail project, where she created a team and procedures to enable the successful handover of the Crossrail central section to the infrastructure managers after construction completion in 2018. Prior to joining Crossrail in 2012, Heather was a Project Manager on the Network Rail Thameslink Programme for 5 years, working on the £900m London Bridge Station and £300m Farringdon Station redevelopments, where she managed the design and construction of a new ticket hall, redevelopment of an existing Grade II Listed operational building, stationwide systems and footbridge.
Heather started her career in Fremantle in 2002 as an engineering graduate working for Dubai Ports World in Australia, progressing to Project Manager based in Sydney, overseeing projects in 12 ports around the country. Heather has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a BSc in Physiology from the University of Western Australia.
In late 2017, Heather relocated her family to her home city of Perth, working for GHD as Principal Professional. She lives in Stirling with her husband Paul and daughters Olivia and Emily.
Each will enthusiastically share their story – their passion for their area of work, times of celebration and reflections on challenges – past and present.
We are seeking an inquisitive and courageous audience prepared to engage with the speakers and make new acquaintances!
