There is an increasing interest from the public about the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) and how it will impact industries, business and ultimately the lives of everyday people. Although; the IoT may seem far in the future, it is actually a technology that we are already deploying and experiencing, without even noticing it.
In this talk, we will explore some of the most popular technologies that utilise Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWAN). LPWAN are designed to maintain long battery life, and enable connection of devices located far away from the base station. We will explore Cellular NB, LoRaWAN and Sigfox including their capabilities and challenges focusing on the Australia and New Zealand market.
