You are invited to attend a CPD and networking evening which will explore opportunities and resources to implement safety in design and value engineering.
The evening has been organised by the Cairns Regional Committee and a number of local presenter will offer a diverse and broad background of knowledge and experience on incorporating safety into engineering projects. Your preseters are:
Jim Greatorex, RPEQ, FIEAust
Jim is currently GHD’s Cairns Manager and Principal Civil Engineer with 20 years’ experience in the civil design, project management and construction industries. His technical role with GHD up to and including the current position has predominantly included civil engineering studies and design and risk management in the areas of pavements, stormwater, sewerage reticulation, water transmission. Jim has also lead on site teams and provided the coordination and interfacing with tier 1 contractors on significant high risk Defence projects. Jim’s key technical skills lay in the development and delivery of multidisciplinary civil infrastructure projects from design through to project management. Jim has successfully maintained the balance of line management and outcome delivery responsibilities with technical inputs on a range of projects. These inputs include diverse Project Director roles, project risk facilitation and leadership – particularly in the Transport sector.
Travers Boland, RPEQ
Travers has nearly 20 years’ experience primarily in the fields of water treatment, transmission and project management. His responsibilities have included design management of multi-disciplinary projects, client partnering arrangements including alliance style projects such as CRC’s Cleaner Seas, civil/mechanical/hydraulic design, contract administration and direct involvement with commissioning and operations and maintenance through on-site engineering projects.
Travers has recently transferred to GHD’s Cairns Office from Brisbane and brings with him a strong history of innovative design solutions that focus on adding value to clients. He is acutely aware of the importance in assessing safety and mitigating risk throughout all phases of project delivery.
The evening will commence with presentation at 5.30pm and a networking from 6.30pm after the presentation and questions.
