The role of the Victorian Division Committee is to provide leadership and direction consistent with Engineers Australia’s Strategic Priorities and to communicate, advocate, connect and promote the engineering profession across academia, government, industry and the wider community, and contribute to the best engineering outcomes that the profession can deliver for the benefit of the whole community. 

The 2019 Victoria Division Committee is made up of the following people:

 

President:

Grant Scott FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER

Director, KiStrategies

Grant is a chartered engineer and lawyer with extensive experience in the petroleum engineering, earth sciences, natural resources and environmental management sectors. He has successfully started, managed and grown a number of businesses and organisations and has developed an expansive network over a number of countries. Grant is also a Board member of the Chemical College and brings a high level of strategic experience to the Victorian Division.

With 18 years of experience working in professional services and the construction industry, Benita is recognised for her engaging leadership style, client focused outcomes, and guidance on aligning strategy with commercial success.

 

Dr Peter Sokolowski FIEAust CPEng RPEQ SMIEEE

Research Fellow, RMIT University

Peter’s passion lies in education and research, providing the skills and culture necessary for the jobs of tomorrow through collaborating with industry and professional bodies for what the community needs both now and tomorrow, putting the future at heart so to position Australia for the generations ahead.

Peter is a chartered engineer with a degree in Economics, his background is in machine tools and heavy manufacturing where he still practices. His main focus now is in Public Policy: particularly energy, defence manufacturing, STEM and the development of the engineering profession.

Guy is a Chartered Fellow and EngExec with 25 years engineering experience. He is an experienced engineering leader with a passion for people development, engineering project design and engineering heritage.

James "Hoody" Hood AM

Hoody is a highly regarded and decorated engineering leader in Defence excelling in strategic leadership, stakeholder relationships and innovation. He is also a Board member of the College for Leadership and Management and is passionate about the development of the next generation of engineering leaders.

Manager, Risk and Industry Analysis, Major Transport Infrastructure Program

Astrid Kauffman

Astrid is a strategic decision and risk professional with experience across a range of industries including transport infrastructure, defence, information technology, emergency management and maritime and ports.

Ross Kristinof

Ross is a chartered geotechnical engineer with experience in infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. Ross has a keen interest in professional standards, mentoring and policy development.

Dr Craig Watkins

Craig is at heart a telecommunications engineer with a strong IT background, and substantial research passion. He also has significant systems engineering, construction, and space technology expertise.
