Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition

Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition will return to Mackay showgrounds from the 24-26 July celebrating 25 years in Mackay. QME attracts over 200 suppliers featuring Becker Mining, Hastings Deering, FLSmidth, GE Power, Marco and Valley Longwall. For the first time QME will feature a free-to-attend seminar series that will offer practical and tangible insights across key themes including: Renewable Energy & Mining, Maintenance, Environment, Government Initiatives, Procurement & Supply Chain and Operational & Occupational Health & Safety. A key session in the Maintenance category will be led by Roger Machand, CEO, Bay6 Solutions Inc. (Canada), where he will discuss “Mitigating hydraulic systems failures using high energy magnetic filtration”.

Roger Machand has worked in the automotive and heavy equipment maintenance fields for more than 40 years. During this time, he has developed the technology for several patented products related to magnetic filtration for high-flow fluid systems after starting Bay6 Solutions in 2008 with co-owner, Dough Tschetter.

Roger’s session will discuss progressive CBM and RCM risk management strategies and include proactive techniques to de-risk operations and improve asset availability. Mag-Shield magnetic filtration is a proactive strategy that reduces total cost of ownership without moving parts, electronic support, and monitoring or additional maintenance routines. With 85% of hydraulic system failures classified as random, resulting in lengthy outages, repeated failures and an increase in cost, reducing failure rates is critical in increasing profit and efficiency. Utilising high-energy magnetic scrubbing, the Mag-Shield system reduces hydraulic component failure rates, effectively mitigates common failures and improves component life as demonstrated by field results. By strategically placing magnetic filtration in the system reservoir, all returning oil is effectively filtered before flowing into any suction ports. This presentation will review the genesis of Mag-Shield magnetic filtration, its role in upgrading existing filtration, review of actual instillations and summarise actual mine site outcomes.

QME will be where the mining industry converges to source the latest products, network and source new ideas.

QME is a free to attend trade exhibition, for more information on the event and to register please visit www.qmeexpo.com.au
