The Mechanical College Committee of Engineers Australia (WA branch) is seeking engineers to join it. The committee would like to further extend its size and diversify its representation across consulting, public sector, corporations/companies as well as tertiary education students and academia.
In particular, we are currently seeking to appoint new members with discipline experience and practice in automation, environmental, mechatronics, mining, oil and gas, policy, robotics, renewable energy, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, transport and others. We also welcome nominations from suitably experienced engineers based in regional / remote WA, with the possibility of engaging them in regular committee meetings through web based tools and/or phone.
The purpose of the group is to provide a forum for the members of EA within mechanical areas of practice to interact through CPD activities which the committee organises, which include technical presentations, site visits and other networking events. In this regard, committee members are expected to work together to deliver a series of professional development events with the support of Engineers Australia. The committee also provides a forum to discuss industry trends, challenges and opportunities, identify areas that impact specifically on the engineering profession and lead the development of Engineers Australia’s position in response.
The committee generally meets once a month (currently on the last Wednesday of the month, 5:15-6:00pm) with its membership on a rolling-basis (to remain on the committee members need to have a sustained and effective role, which includes regular participation at meetings).
All eligible applicants are invited to submit their expressions of interest by 5:00pm on Monday 20 January 2020 using the online form here.
Nominees need to be members of EA and presently active within the engineering profession.
Any questions on the committee can be directed to the Mechanical Committee Chair, Contact details are available through their webpage here
