Design and Technology to Improve Rehabilitation Outcomes for People with a Hand Impairment

Please join Dr David Hobbs as he presents his research and design of an accessible serious gaming system for children with limited hand function and celebral palsy.

Dr Hobbs has almost 20 years of experience in the field of disability, rehabilitation engineering and assistive technologies.  Dr Hobbs is currently a Senior Lecturer and academic staff member within the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University.

Dr Hobbs has spent time in both academia and industry.  Working for NovitaTech after completing his bachelor’s degree in physics and biomedical engineering in 2000, he was then offered an academic teaching and research position at Flinders University.

In 2018 Dr Hobbs was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award by Flinders University.  He was also an invited speaker at TEDx, and one of the Australian delegates at the WHO in Geneva in 2017.
