Garry Button, CEO Freight Victoria

Garry Button was appointed Chief Executive, Freight Victoria in July 2018. Garry has extensive commercial and transport industry experience, and recently led engagement with the freight industry on several complex and priority matters for Victoria, while acting as Deputy Secretary, Strategy and Planning. Before this role Garry joined VicTrack as Deputy Chief Executive in late 2013. He has more than 30 years financial and corporate management experience, gained in a diverse range of sectors including transport, health, energy, retail, media and consumer products.

Dorian Notman, Senior Lecturer, RMIT University

Dorian is a Senior Lecturer in Aviation Logistics and Supply at RMIT University and has researched, taught and consulted in logistics and transportation for more than 25 years in the UK, Denmark and Australia. He firmly believes that a successful national economy requires a thriving international trade in high value products that utilises the speed and accuracy of delivery that air cargo operations provide. Similarly, the rise of e-commerce is driving the need for integrated, highly robust and efficient cross border distribution systems that will demand significant adaptation in the global transportation model. The impact of these changes in demand will drive new sources of supply and require new models of delivery – something that provides both significant opportunities and risks for the Australian economy.
