Cold Formed Steel in Multi Level Construction

Overview

The increased use of cold-formed steel framing in low-rise to mid-rise construction in the residential, educational and commercial building sectors is placing demands on the industry to upskill to the latest design practices, construction processes and regulatory requirements.

Prefabricated light-gauge steel framing has become the solution of choice for those favouring systems that reduce construction time frames and construction waste while increasing quality, productivity and efficiency.

This session will provide an introduction to light-gauge steel framing, outline the factors driving the industry’s uptake, and touch on the NCC requirements relating to fire, acoustic and structural compliance.
