Balancing work.... and all that other stuff

With an increasing work load, further study and social activities, it is no wonder that it is hard to find the right work/life balance and not be stressed. In this session our panel of speakers will discuss and share key tips on how to achieve the best possible work/life balance and the benefits they have experienced.

About the Speakers:
Graham Wood, Acting CEO of Hunter Water
Graham Wood is an internationally experienced senior executive with demonstrable success in major private and publicly owned entities. Accomplished business leader, change manager and team builder who has recently shaped the water industry in Auckland and worked closely with Auckland Council to deliver long term planning objectives. Qualified as a chartered engineer with over 25 years’ experience of senior management across four continents. Graham was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer of Hunter Water in July 2019. Hunter Water supplies water, wastewater and stormwater services to approximately 600 thousand people in the Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter areas of New South Wales.

Tara Andrews, Graduate Engineer, ARTC
Tara started playing for the Newcastle Jets when she was 15 years old and has played 9 seasons with the club in the National W-League.  She started her University journey in 2013 where it took 6 years to complete her Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)(Honours) degree. During her time at University she was juggling a lot of Football commitments with her study including playing for the jets and representing the Youth National teams. In 2014 and 2015, Tara went to the United States to play in their 2nd division league before returning to get called up for the Senior National team, the Matildas for her debut at the end of 2015. Unfortunately, she missed out on the Olympic team the following year.  She decided to take a year off from playing with the Jets and focus on study and enjoying some down time. She returned to the Jets the next season but also started working as an Undergraduate Engineer at ARTC, while studying. The final 2 years of study consisted of juggling a job, football and study. Tara graduated at the end of 2018 with first class honours in Civil Engineering. Since finishing University, she has started working fulltime at ARTC as a Graduate Engineer while still playing Football for the Jets.
