THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED
The new Royal Adelaide hospital (new RAH) is one of the most advance infrastructures in Australia. The new RAH have invested heavily in new technologies that will increase the efficiency allowing the staff to look after more patients.
The Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) are just one part of the cutting edge technology integrated in the new RAH. These robotic devices can carry large trolleys with goods at average walking pace. In addition, these vehicles have the ability to communicate with 14 lifts, selected doors, and portable phones. The AVGs are responsible for the supply and transport of Linen, waste, meals, and pharmaceutical goods. Thus providing more time for a focused patient care.
The AVGs are flat, 275kg stainless steel robotic devices, measuring 1.7m in length, 60cm in width, and 20 cm in height. A fleet of 25 AGVs are employed to move 1600 trolleys of goods each day. Patients and staff never encounter the AGV, they work quietly in the background to ensure essential supplies are delivered.
