Queer Careers - STEM Out

This event series tackles issues that LGBTIQ+ people face in the workplace, and focuses on helping everyone transition from being out and proud on campus to being their confident, authentic selves in workplaces that champion diversity.
Queer Careers - STEM Out

Out for Australia, in partnership with Engineers Australia, warmly invites you to the first installment of Queer Careers!

This event series tackles issues that LGBTIQ+ people face in the workplace, and focuses on helping everyone transition from being out and proud on campus to being their confident, authentic selves in workplaces that champion diversity.

For our first installment of Queer Careers, we are focusing on being LGBTIQ+ in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) fields. STEM careers have traditionally been challenging for queer and non-binary professionals, but things are slowly changing as more workplaces embrace diversity, equity and inclusion daily.

‘Queer Careers: STEM OUT!’ is a panel discussion on the unique experiences, motivations and successes that Queer STEM professionals, academics and students have shared.

Drinks and canapes will be provided, and there will be opportunities to network with a diverse range of STEM and non-STEM professionals, organisations and students.

Out for Australia greatly appreciates the support of Engineers Australia for hosting the event.
