Kim has been a consulting engineer for 30 years in Australia and South East Asia.  He cites projects in Hong Kong including Hong Kong’s Central Station as pivotal in his career in deep excavation retention, underground and bridge structures.  He has been involved in Melbourne’s railroad infrastructure expansion for 15 years. Beginning with the Craigieburn Rail Extension and Middleborough Road Grade Separation in 2005, Springvale Level Crossing Removal in 2013 through to the recent Caulfield to Dandenong elevated rail viaducts.  He has been leading teams in tender design and design delivery.

Russell Brown is the founder and Managing Director of R.I Brown Pty Ltd. In the past 40 years, Mr Brown has represented the Institution of Engineers, The Foundation & Footings Society and the Association of Consulting Structural Engineers Victoria on the Building Control Act committee as an industry advisor to ensure that the bill covered the needs of engineers. As a practising consulting engineer, Russell assisted Australian Standards in the preparation of the AS4100 handbook Limit State Steel Code to facilitate design engineers transferring from AS1250 to Limit State philosophy.

On behalf of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (formerly the Housing Guarantee Fund Ltd), Russell investigates difficult failures generally involving ground movement or suspected structural failures and costings.
