Every decade sees a new generation of mobile networks. 5G goes beyond a new wireless interface and is fundamentally reshaping the mobile landscape. The rollout of 5G and new and improved services it enables will impact a wide and growing range of roles and industries.

This webinar provides a high-level introduction to some of the key technologies underpinning 5G and to some commercial and industrial use-cases in an Australian context.

You will learn about the importance of 5G in a societal context, and for the individual user, and the opportunities 5G might present in your field or organisation.

This webinar is delivered in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney.

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Outline the key technologies involved in 5G
  • Outline some key services and commercial opportunities enabled by 5G
  • Outline the background to 5G development and the current rollout in Australia
  • Identify priorities for future study and exploration in the field of telecommunications technology and services relating to 5G
