This site visit is to Greatcell Australia Pty Ltd (GCA)is a Product Development company located within the NSW Bomen Special Activation Precinct, developing perovskite solar cells (PSC) for commercialisation. GCA is in possession of the intellectual property, equipment & industry know-how to deliver Perovskite solar cells for various markets, with the intention of establishing Advanced Manufacture facilities on-site. Initially, GCA will be targeting the low/indirect light market, comprising of, but not limited to: agricultural sensing devices, Defence UAVs, electric vehicles, Long-Range Wide-Area Network devices, and general Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
Greatcell Energy is a leader in the development and commercialisation of Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC) technology – 3rd Generation photovoltaic technology that can be applied to glass, metal or plastic films. The company is currently focused on providing micro-power supplies to the over $100 billion IoT market.

PSC technology is a photovoltaic (PV) technology based on applying low cost materials in a series of ultrathin layers encapsulated by protective sealants. Paul Moonie, Greatcell Energy
Paul Moonie is the Managing Director of GCA and Technical Project Leader for the PSC pilot plant in Australia. He has been undertaking research and development of 3rd generation solar technology since 2001, both with the Greatcell predecessor companies and as a researcher at QUT in Brisbane where he is completing his PhD. Paul has been involved in a number of product development projects based on DSC and PSC technologies.
