Learn how Toowoomba Regional Council is taking positive material action to meet Global, national and State waste management targets that help reduce the release of greenhouse gases, increase recycling and re-use and provide economic value in the region.
Amy Bernier - Project Engineer for the new Kleinton WMF, will take the audience through a presentation encompassing the reasons behind the building of the new style waste management facility, the innovative features and principles and may share some anecdotes and lessons learned from the project.
The presentation will be followed by a site tour and networking. Light snacks will be available.

Project Engineer. Toowoomba Regional Council
Amy is a public infrastructure Project Manager for Toowoomba Regional Council. Most recently she managed the design and construction of the $18m Kleinton Waste Management Facility. Prior to her time with Council, Amy had worked extensively in the private sector for engineering consultancies. She has experience working as a multidisciplinary Project Manager, Civil Designer and a Construction Superintendent’s Representative.
Amy finds motivation in challenges and thrives on personal engagement. She was a founder of Robogals Toowoomba which is an international organisation that inspires young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In her spare time Amy enjoys listening to live music with friends at the Walton Stores.
