AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 Updates – What You Need to Know

Stay up to date with the latest edition of AS/NZS4777.2, the standard for grid connection of energy systems via inverters, and how these changes will impact engineers working in solar.
AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 Updates – What You Need to Know

An Engineering Education Australia Webinar:

AS/NZS4777.2, the standard for Grid connection of energy systems via inverters, Part 2: Inverter requirements, defines the operation and behaviour of grid connected inverters. This applies to professionals working in photovoltaic (PV) system design and installation, and network connection applications.

The standard was updated in December 2020 to reflect changing conditions in the industry and the growing application of PV systems, batteries, and emerging Vehicle to Grid technologies.

With Distribution Network Service Providers set to assess connection applications based on the new standard from December 2021, understanding these updates is critical to meeting requirements.

Delivered by education partners, Global Sustainable Energy Solutions (GSES), this webinar will provide an overview of changes to the standard. An industry expert will step through what the changes mean to various PV technologies, and the impact to engineers working in solar.

Learning outcomes

  • Comply with the standard for grid connected inverters
  • Understand and explain the changes to AS/NZS 4777.2
  • Explain the reasons for these changes to the standard
  • Meet Distribution Network Service Provider requirements for connection applications

Is this course for you?

This webinar will benefit engineers working in the solar, electrical and renewable energy industries.

It will also be relevant for project engineers, project managers and connections officers who work with solar technology.

Topics we'll cover

  • Why the standard has changed
  • Which setpoints have changed
  • Changes for inverters
  • Changes to electric vehicle requirements
  • Changes to Stand Alone Power Systems
  • Documentation changes
