Local Update – Sunshine Coast - Moreton Bay Regional Growth and Challenges

Please join the Engineers Australia Sunshine Coast Regional Committee for a presentation on the significant growth occurring across the Moreton Bay Region and the challenges this presents to the engineering profession.

The Moreton Bay region is planning for significant growth that will transform the region.  Planning for infrastructure to support the planned potential levels of growth of a scale not previously contemplated presents both opportunity and challenge.

To meet the challenge and maximise the opportunity Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) has responded by introducing organisational change, rethinking its engagement with key stakeholders and sequencing the delivery of growth with consideration of infrastructure integration.  MBRC is working closely with key infrastructure stakeholders to ensure the timely planning and delivery of region-defining infrastructure projects across all networks.

Jon will provide an overview of how MBRC is addressing the challenge and opportunity as well as updating on major growth fronts and projects across the region.

Your ticket price includes catering and light refreshments.

Parking

When coming to Moreton Bay campus, please be aware that the GPS may not recognise Moreton Parade so if not, please use Paper Avenue to navigate instead. Once you turn off Gympie Road, follow that road and you will take two left turns (as if you are heading to the train station car park) that will eventually bring you to the side of the USC building and car park 1 which is attached to the building. Car park 1 is complimentary after 4.30pm. Park in car park 1 and take the lift to the ground floor then follow the building round (Bellissimo Café will be on the corner on your right) to the Auditorium Foyer.
