About this event

South Australia Division members are invited to join Engineers Australia Chief Executive Officer, Romilly Madew AO FTSE HonFIEAust along with National President, Dr Nick Fleming BE(Hons) PhD FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) GAICD for an interactive members forum.

A unique opportunity to hear directly from Ms Madew and Dr Fleming about:
• Engineers Australia’s evolving strategic direction
• The critical role members and volunteers play in the ongoing transformation of Engineers Australia
• An upcoming member ballot to update our Charter and By-laws

Members will also be able to ask questions and share ideas with Ms Madew, Dr Fleming and their peers.

Event format

This is a hybrid event with both in-person and webinar attendance options.

Light refreshments will be served for in-person attendees.

This event is open to all South Australia Division members of Engineers Australia and is fantastic opportunity to hear from our new Chief Executive Officer and network with a wide range of your peers.

Romilly Madew

Romilly Madew AO FTSE HonFIEAust

Chief Executive Officer, Engineers Australia

Ms Madew joins EA from Infrastructure Australia where she held the role Chief Executive Officer since 2019, where she was responsible for overseeing Infrastructure Australia’s critical role in helping governments prioritise projects and reforms that best serve our communities. Prior to this, Ms Madew was CEO of Green Building Council of Australia for 13 years, where her contributions were recognised with an Order of Australia in 2019.

She is currently a Member of the Australian Academy of Technology & Engineering (ATSE) Infrastructure Forum, Member of Placemaking NSW Advisory Committee, Director of Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Independent Chair of the Currawong State Park Advisory Board (NSW), Federal Government appointee, G20 EMPOWER - Empowerment and Progression of Women's Economic Representation and Director of Minerva Network (supporting Australia’s elite sportswomen).

 

Dr Nick Fleming

Dr Nick Fleming BE(Hons) PhD FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) GAICD

National President, Engineers Australia

Nick joined the EA board in 2017 and is in his second term as a director. He is the National President and Chair of the Board, and Chair of the board’s Governance Committee. He previously chaired the board's Engineering Futures Committee, and remains a director of the Australian Engineering Foundation and Engineers Australia Pty Ltd.

Nick is an experienced non-executive director. In addition to Engineers Australia, he is member of the board of South Gippsland Water and an advisory board member with Infrastructure CoLab. He is managing director of advisory firm, Innergise Pty Ltd, and a faculty member with the Australia and New Zealand School of Government. He is an active thought leader, speaker and author, recognised for his expertise in strategy, innovation and complex problem solving.
