Overview

Co-designed by Engineering Heritage Australia and the University of Canberra, Contexts for Heritage Engineering introduces you to the challenges and possibilities of preserving built and mechanical engineering heritage, along with the professional opportunities for specialists in this field. 

This course, featuring online learning, two optional assignments, and a two-day onsite workshop led by industry professionals, covers heritage and conservation approaches such as significance, restoration, adaptive reuse, the conservation planning life cycle, and an introduction to heritage materials. This course is taught by experienced Heritage Engineers from South Australia, and Heritage conservation staff from the University of Canberra.

Adelaide, regarded as a masterwork of urban design, has its city layout and surrounding parklands inscribed on the National Heritage List.
