In the past 24 months our group has undertaken sites tours of the Ipswich Motorway Upgrade, Richlands railway station and track, Wyaralong Dam and Goodna Technology Park. We've also heard from a wide variety of guest speakers and run an inaugural Engineering for Kids event at Leslie Consulting, Goodna. Our aim is to celebrate and learn more about the many influences of engineering in the Ipswich region.
To attend one of our events simply requires an interest in engineering. Everybody is welcome to come along to learn more about different areas of engineering. The tours and presentations are usually given by an engineer, so they are technical to a point, but no prior knowledge is required. Most site tours are free and other events charge just a nominal fee.
The Ipswich Regional Group is always on the look-out for new sites to visit. So if you know of tours that may interest the engineering community or there's a site where you've wondered "how do they do that?" please send us your suggestion using our email address.
