Two new members join Sydney Committee for 2023

Engineers Australia would like to welcome Jonathan Devasagayam and Jessica Qiu to the Sydney Committee for 2023.  

New elected committee members, headed by President Olivia Mirza, will work together across the year volunteering their expertise and time to provide leadership in key areas including the overall governance and strategic direction of Engineers Australia Sydney.  

Jessica and Jonathan have backgrounds in healthcare technology and infrastructure and will add their expertise to the Sydney Committee group.  

Each new member will serve the Sydney Committee for two years. You can find out more about the new committee members below.

Jonathan Devasagayam
Committee member

Jonathan is an accomplished engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare technology management and in the management of corporate and support services in the healthcare sector. Jonathan is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, an Engineering Executive and a Chartered professional engineer for biomedical engineering. He has also been involved in leadership and management and is a Certified Associate in asset management. Jonathan has worked as a volunteer with Australian and American aid organisations in developing countries including Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Myanmar and Rwanda. On trips he has supported  visiting medical teams, assisting with infrastructure improvements and recovery planning after natural disasters.
