Our refined strategy for 2023-24

At Engineers Australia we take an outcomes-driven approach to our strategy to ensure our work connects to our purpose of advancing society through great engineering.

This requires collaboration. Each year, the Board and Executive team review and develop the strategy based on input from our members, office bearers, industry partners, employees and external experts.

We are excited to share our refined strategy which outlines the long-term outcomes we want to achieve and defines our critical work:

  • Support a contemporary and future-fit engineering workforce, through Chartered engineer recognition, world-class professional standards and ensuring ethical and competent practices among our members.
  • Advocate for a more diverse engineering workforce and STEM uptake to attract students, more women and overseas engineers and to help promote flexible education pathways.
  • Increase the impact and value of our global network.
  • Provide leadership to and on behalf of the profession for society’s benefit through our policy and advocacy work.
  • Increase the recognition of the value of engineering to society by promoting its contemporary identity with compelling stories and communications, showcasing its impact on the economy and recognising engineering excellence.

What does success look like?

We will see our work and advocacy successfully strengthening the national engineering pipeline and building a diverse engineering workforce.

We will lead by example and champion a strong and positive workplace culture for the profession, increase community trust in engineering and promote greater awareness of the value of engineering to society.

We will have a prominent seat at the table with policy makers and build on our crucial work upholding standards for the profession.
