Flood mitigation project among Tasmania’s Engineering Excellence Award winners

A flood resilience project, an accomplished civil and hydraulic engineer and a renewable energy emerging engineer have been named at the 2024 Engineers Australia Excellence Awards – People and Projects Tasmania, held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart on Friday night.

“Recognising the very best in engineering, the Engineers Australia Excellence Awards celebrate the innovative contributions engineers make to our daily lives. These awards offer engineers the chance to showcase their work while inspiring those who follow, helping to advance the profession for future generations.” said Engineers Australia General Manager – Tasmania, Darren Beattie.

Local winners will go on to represent their division at the national awards’ gala dinner on 21 November at the Brisbane City Hall.

Working across Tasmania, Australia, and the Pacific, Kate’s expertise in renewable energy systems is making a meaningful impact in addressing climate change. Her work as an owner’s engineer on large-scale renewable energy projects demonstrates her ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams effectively. Kate is also recognised for her commitment to inspiring students to pursue STEM careers.
