At the Battle of the Built Environment quiz, Engineers Australia, the Australian Institute of Architecture NT and Planning Institute Australia raised $3200 for Dawn House.
Dawn House is a local women’s shelter that provides care, counselling and community education for those facing challenges related to domestic and family violence.
More than 100 people attended the trivia night, with the Fulton Hogan team taking home the win. Funds were raised through various raffles and Dawn Houses QR code throughout the evening. Prizes were supported by Engineers Australia, the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA), Planning Institute of Australia and the Darwin Trailer Boat Club.
In late August Engineers Australia Northern Division and the AIA presented the fundraising cheque to Dawn House Chief Executive Officer, Debbie Reeves.
Ms Reeves said she was delighted with the outcome of the trivia night and advised that the funds will assist in ensuring programs can be delivered to support domestic violence.
Engineers Australia Northern General Manager Jenny Jan said bringing the industry together to celebrate, network and raise money for a good cause was really rewarding.
“It was great to work with our industry peers to bring this wonderful event to life. Connecting engineers and built environment professionals across the Northern Territory is important. It was great to connect in a fun way.”
The quiz is an annual event on the NT calendar for architects, engineers and planners.
