Engineers Australia and the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division (RAeS AD) have formally renewed their commitment to advancing excellence and high professional standards in Australian aerospace engineering. The new cooperation agreement was signed by Engineers Australia’s CEO Romilly Madew AO and RAeS AD President Emily Hughes at the recent Aerospace Industry Symposium.
This updated agreement replaces the original 2004 arrangement, building on both organisations’ shared goal of supporting and advancing aerospace engineering, science, and technology across Australia. By aligning their efforts, Engineers Australia and RAeS AD aim to improve the quality of professional practice in the aerospace sector, create career development opportunities and elevate industry standards.
Recognising each other’s unique expertise, Engineers Australia and RAeS AD will collaborate closely to leverage their strengths. Engineers Australia, as the country’s leading engineering body, and RAeS AD, as the Australian branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society, are both central to the growth and development of Australia’s aerospace industry. The renewed agreement specifies areas of collaboration and provides frameworks to guide these joint efforts, helping both organisations more effectively meet their shared goals.
This partnership is set to benefit aerospace professionals and the wider industry through initiatives, events, and programmes aimed at promoting engineering excellence and career advancement.
Engineers Australia CEO Romilly Madew AO said the collaboration between Engineers Australia and RAeS AD is a powerful partnership, bringing together expertise that will continue to drive innovation and professional standards across the aerospace sector.
RAeS AD President Emily Hughes said the signing of this new Cooperation Agreement demonstrates the ongoing and close relationship between the Society in Australia and Engineers Australia.
"As we head into the future, I am looking forward to seeing the positive influence our combined aerospace engineering activities will have in the industry in Australia."
