Congratulations to those Engineers Australia members who have been named in the first Australian Honours list for 2025.
The achievements of the engineers noted in this list are an example of some of the best work from across the engineering profession.
Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla HonFIEAust CPEng received an Order of Australia for her service to science as an engineer and inventor, to sustainable materials research and technology and waste management. Prof Sahajwalla has received our Chemical College Chemical Engineer Achievement Award in 2023 for her pioneering research in high temperature conversion of waste.
Professor Bronwyn Louise Fox FIEAust received her Order of Australia for distinguished service to public administration, to scientific research and development, to advanced manufacturing, and to tertiary education. Bronwyn was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Enterprise at UNSW last year and was previously Chief Scientist at CSIRO.
Engineers Australia National President and Chair Dr Raj Aseervatham said being recognised in the Order of Australia demonstrates the deep commitment of these engineers not only to the profession but to the community they serve.
