Introducing ACT’s 2025 committee

Engineers Australia would like to welcome two new members to the Canberra Committee for 2025, Jason Gillard and Anntonette Daily. The committee will work throughout the year to lead and advocate for their local members, bringing regionally informed advice to the Engineers Australia Board. Lead by the committee President Alastair Cossart, they’ll help to set the overall governance and strategic direction of Engineers Australia in the ACT.

Each new member will serve the ACT committee for two years. You can find out more about each of the committee members below.

New committee member

Jason Gillard is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Certified Project Director highly experienced in providing procurement and infrastructure advice at strategic and delivery levels. He’s delivered major infrastructure projects through undertaking business cases, feasibility studies, master planning and delivery/construction, working with both private and public clients in all facets of project planning and execution.

I look forward to driving relevant opportunities in the ACT region through my involvement in the Canberra Division Committee focusing on CPD and the sharing of knowledge and experiences through the Engineers Australia network. This needs to be in a way that appeals to the services we provide here in the ACT region and ensure work opportunities remain strong locally. To maintain the positive profile of the profession and retain the best engineers in Canberra I will advocate for opportunities leveraging my experience across education, government, defence, transport and infrastructure market sectors.

Anntonette and Jason will join the existing members of the Canberra Committee, some of whom have provided their bio’s below.

I have more than 50 years membership with Engineers Australia – mostly as a Fellow. My particular interests are the recognition of the contributions offered by our more senior members and the problems they experience. I also retain my interest in conserving the country’s engineering assets.

As we begin 2025, we would like to thank our committee members whose terms have now ended Dr. Therese Flapper, Dr. Binod Aryal and Kevin Earle. Your exceptional work is highly valued by members and Engineers Australia.
