Engineering activity ideas wanted for new EA Junior Club
Over the past few months Engineers Australia has been working on developing the EA Junior Club, designed to help both teachers and parents/carers engage and educate primary school students in engineering.
The teachers’ section of the website is almost ready to launch, and the parents/carers section was planned for release later in the year. However, due to COVID-19, and so many children learning at home, we made the decision to fast-track this section of the site.
This is where our EA members come in.
We are asking you to share your favourite engineering activity so we can help parents and carers educate and entertain kids at home
Our aim is to provide easy, fun activities that parents/carers can do at home with their primary school aged children, using standard household items to demonstrate basic engineering principles.
We would love you – the experts - to share with us an activity that you have done with your kids/grandkids/nieces/nephews etc based on engineering outcomes.
All we need to know is the what equipment is required, the step-by-step process of the activity and the outcome (the why).
We will use the most suitable activities on EA Junior Club, and it will be promoted through our social media channels and the STARportal.
Let’s work together to help our parents/carers engage and inspire children in the world of engineering.
You can send your activity details, or request more information, via [email protected]
