Epping to Thornleigh Third Track
Epping to Thornleigh Third Track (ETTT)
This $411 million railway project has succeeded in creating a vital new line to boost freight capacity and improve passenger service reliability. The project was delivered on time and under budget, adding six kilometres of new track and adding capacity to the national network. The Epping to Thornleigh project included the construction of a new rail bridge over the M2 Motorway and Devlins Creek, a number of large cutting widenings along with upgrades to Pennant Hills and Cheltenham stations. It formed part of the $933 million Northern Sydney Freight Corridor (NSFC) Program, jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments. The Program will remove more than 200,000 heavy vehicle road trips each year. The presentation will cover the key challenges of constructing major infrastructure adjacent to the operational main northern rail line.
