Securing the bolts before the horse has bolted: Cyber Deterrence, Assurance and Synthetic Standards

Cyber Deterrence, Assurance and Synthetic Standards

The 19th and 20th Centuries were about the relationship between the social and the technical: the socio-techno (ST) and techno-socio (TS). Information is no longer divisible from the Technos – the 21st Century is about the relationship between the socio and the IT (SIT) and the IT and the socio (ITS). This is a new synthetic ecology (SE) that will underwrite all future Knowledge Enterprise Economies (KEEs).

This inspiring presentation will cover:

  •  An understanding of Cyber
  •  Synthetic Ecologies
  •  Cyber Deterrence and Assurance
  •  Knowledge Enterprise Economies
  •  The Fifth Estate – an argument for a Fifth Cyber Commonwealth

Presentation by Associate Professor, Simon Reay Atkinson PhD, MPhil, BSc (Cantab), FIET, CAPT (Dr) RANR, Centre of International Security Studies (CISS) and University of Sydney Cyber Security Network (SCSN).
