Celebrating the significant and valued contribution made by Engineers - AEW 2015 Wednesday, 15 July 2015

EA Sydney President's Message - July 2015

Coming up in the first week of August is Australian Engineering Week. This National event celebrates the significant and valued contribution engineers provide to our economic, social and technological aspects within our daily lives. Our profession is exciting and rewarding, with many disciplines and pathways to pursue.

In Sydney Division we will be formally launching the week on Monday the 3rd with the Harrick’s address which will explore how engineers contributed to operations during World War 1.

Other notable events include tours of Barangaroo, ANSTO, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Wartime Innovation tour at the Powerhouse Museum and Nan Tien University campus in Wollongong. A full listing of all events is available on our website.

Australian Engineering week is an ideal opportunity to showcase our profession to the community and highlight the career opportunities possible. I encourage you to attend events and site visits with others to experience firsthand how engineers have contributed positively to our society and way of life.
