GHD marks International Women’s Day in Adelaide Thursday, 17 March 2016

GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services companies, celebrated International Women’s Day (8 March) as part of its focus on attracting and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce.

In Australia, the regional leadership team has focused on this year’s theme of “pledge for parity” to make personal commitments to empower people and drive change in the workplace.

In Adelaide, GHD people came together over morning tea to make their own “pledge for parity”. This well attended event showcased what International Women’s Day means to GHD, and the impact that these initiatives can have on the workplace.

Commenting on her “pledge for parity”, Van Tang, Manager South Australia said, “My pledge is to support men on my teams to work flexibly or take parental leave. Parity can mean different things to different people. For me, the support my husband provides in our family life is a contributing factor that allows me to undertake what I do in my work life.”

She continued, “By creating an environment that continues to support our male and female colleagues and their partners more flexibly, we can truly work towards greater equality in the workplace.”
