Invitation to contribute to the Mastering Complex Projects (MCP) Conference 2014 Tuesday, 04 February 2014

In Australia, the new century has seen a massive increase in the size and complexity of engineering projects due to a boom in resources investment and increasingly ambitious infrastructure projects. Numerous instances of project over runs in cost and time have been reported, however, successes are rarely acknowledged. This conference provides an opportunity to celebrate the successes of project leadership in achieving targets and mitigating over runs in response to risks that challenge cost and time.

Embedded in the Engineers Australia Convention 2014, the MCP Conference is a joint project of the Australian Cost Engineering Society, the Risk Engineering Society, and the John Grill Centre for Project Leadership.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The conference is seeking submissions from companies and sector organisations building large complex engineered projects that showcase lessons learnt from major construction projects substantially completed since 2000 under the following themes:

  • Project leadership
  • Risk management, and
  • Project controls.

Read the MCPC Call for Abstracts Brochure for further details on abstract submissions.

In addition, the conference will also produce a White Paper addressed to government and industry groups that summarises lessons learnt from the recent construction boom titled "Mastering Complex Projects … success factors for world beating performance”.
