Launching our Leadership Insights series in Singapore Tuesday, 25 October 2016

Our Leadership Insights series launched with a breakfast with Australian High Commissioner Mr Philip Green on Monday 17th October. Mr Green provided an update on Australia and Singapore relations, including an overview of opportunities for engineers. The event was timely as Mr Green had just returned from Canberra, where he witnessed the signing of agreements that are a result of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) formed between the two countries in June 2015.

Mr Green shared about the long-standing friendship between Australia and Singapore, including a brief summary of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s address to the Australian Parliament that week, which was the first address by a Singapore leader in Parliament House. Other highlights of Mr Green’s update included an overview of opportunities for the engineering profession, particularly around defence and infrastructure.

As part of the event, three Engineering Executives were also recognised for their leadership of the Singapore engineering profession. The Chapter congratulates Mr John Lancaster, Mr Geoffrey Piggott and Mr Tan Hee Wee on their achievements.

Engineering Executive is a credential recognising capabilities in leadership and management and EngExecs are also awarded a Fellowship and Chartership in EA’s College of Leadership and Management.

The Singapore Chapter will host quarterly Leadership Insights sessions, which aim to deliver knowledge and expertise to our members directly from thought leaders around the world. These forums will also provide ample opportunity for in-depth Q&As to address various issues and topics relating to the engineering profession, business and leadership.
