National Water Week 16 - 22 October Thursday, 22 September 2016

Engineers Australia together with Water Corporation will be celebrating National Water Week on the 16th – 22nd October. With this year’s theme being ‘Water. Life. Growth’ National Water Week helps us understand and take action to protect and conserve our precious water resources and habitats. It also provides an opportunity to remind ourselves and teach others that water must be used wisely if there is to be enough to meet the needs of our future generations.

While the week is dedicated to encouraging communities to take action to protect our vital water sources, it's also a celebration of innovation and water achievements. Such as Water Corporation’s Groundwater Replenishment Scheme, an innovative concept where treated wastewater is further treated to drinking water standards and recharged into groundwater supplies.

As WA continues to experience the effects of a drying climate Water Corporation has delivered a number of demand management campaigns to spread the waterwise message. Water Corporation’s Stay Waterwise WA campaign is an example of our dedication to protecting our water resources. Stay Waterwise encourages communities to adopt waterwise tips, water saving products and choosing waterwise plants for your gardens.
