Queensland engineers wanted: Urban Design and Places Panel Wednesday, 25 November 2015

On 16 November 2015, at the 8th International Urban Design Conference held in Brisbane, Ms Jackie Trad MP, Deputy Premier, Minister for Transport, Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning and Minister for Trade announced the establishment of the Queensland Urban Design and Places Panel (UDP Panel).

Ian McEwan, General Manager Engineers Australia Queensland Division, encourages members to submit their interest in the UDP Panel.

“Joining the Panel is an opportunity to provide advice on urban design, urban planning, infrastructure design, development economics, architecture and other built environment aspects in relation to major development and urban infrastructure projects,” said Mr McEwan.

“There is also the benefit of promoting the message that “good design makes good business sense” to the community and industry.

“As leading professionals, I strongly encourage members with the appropriate skills and experience to nominate,” said Mr McEwan.

Members of the engineering team in the following fields can submit their interest:

  • Urban design
  • Town and regional planning
  • Architecture
  • Sustainability
  • Property economics and development
  • Infrastructure design
  • Landscape architecture
  • Sustainable development
