Welcome to 2017, I trust that you had the opportunity to stop and spend some quality time with your loved ones over the break and are now well rested, looking forward to a healthy and prosperous year.

This year, we are focusing on rolling out the recommendations from Engineers Australia’s Tasmanian Workforce Development Plan, including consultation workshops, working groups, and engaging with government, industry and academia to ensure we secure the future of the State by having a vibrant and innovative engineering industry.

With the start of a new year brings an opportunity for you to remain current and competent, and plan your professional development.

Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is full of opportunities to increase your knowledge, skills and professional connections and over the next few weeks there is something on offer for every stage of the career lifecycle.

How to practise competently, a graduate event – 8 March

Specifically for graduates, this seminar discusses the professional skills you will need to develop to enter and navigate the workforce. Visit the event listing for more information.

There will also be more CPD sessions across the state in Burnie and Launceston and as well as Hobart with the Regional Committees re-focusing their efforts this year.

Finally, we continue to inspire the next generation of Tasmanians to pursue engineering with our schools program, Futures in Engineering, with Defence Force Recruiting, the University of Tasmania and Australian Maritime College.
