Vacancies for Engineers August 2015 Update Friday, 25 September 2015

The Department of Employment has released its September 2015 Vacancies Report which covers trends in job vacancies for engineers to the end of August 2015 and revisions for previous months.

Vacancies for engineers saw a rise in the month of August, following on from rises in previous months. Engineering vacancies rose 0.6% for the month of August, continuing a small series of increases which include a 0.5% rise in June and 0.5% rise in July. See Figure 1 for monthly changes in general, professional and engineering vacancies over the past two years.

Tasmania and Victoria saw the most significant rise in engineering vacancies across the country in August, with increases of 5.6% and 3.3% respectively. See Figure 2 for monthly changes in engineering vacancies by state.
