The Department of Employment has released its October 2015 Vacancies Report which covers trends in job vacancies for engineers to the end of September 2015 and revisions for previous months.
There were rises nationally for general, professional and engineering vacancies for the month of September, with engineering vacancies rising 1.5%.
The number of engineering vacancies recorded in September was 2,440 which is more than what was recorded in September 2014.
A number of states and territories recorded increases in engineering vacancies, including Queensland (4.5%), The ACT (2.3%), New South Wales (2.0%), South Australia (0.5%) and Victoria (0.1%).
